1.
I have a house And I have lived in it Since I remember having fear I have a house It has a picket fence That’s going to wither and to wane I have a house It sings to me I have a house It’s just for me I have a house I live my dreams
2.
Bad Blood 04:20
There’s always so many doors So many hands to pull you forward There are three men The first of them is gray and thin Sits naked there with wrinkled skin His mouth lets this out: Don’t leave this house It’s all we have Bad blood won’t allow it But we’ll stay as long as we can The second one had lost his tongue His eyes are shining like the sun Hidden behind his hands The final man is raving mad He wears a suit Waves his arms and shouts: Don’t leave this house It’s all we have Bad blood won’t allow it But we’ll stay as long as we can
3.
Every bone has its favorite crack And every man dies You, my son, take the simple cack Let’s get you outside The strength of the womb There’s stars all around you, child To guide you to me You should swim up beneath the tide Come out of the sea The strength of the womb
4.
Well, come in the door I’ll show you the floor It’s crafted from hard wood and bone Do you see this here mirror? I dreamt this was here To help me escape from the fire My home, my home, my home My home is fine Now pop up the stairs I believe your friend's there The bad one who stays down below The fire was there It’d burn up the basement stairs When he sits there down in his hole My home, my home, my home My home is fine The hallway is long It goes on and on Between its two narrow walls And the doors all open To rooms that are broken By the frightening passage of time But my home, my home, my home My home is fine
5.
Last year our brother went to sea, you see, he wondered If a house was better than a boat A solid floor to walk on than to row But he came home A changed man Said that he had received a vision That put the fear of god back in him Then the angry ocean stole it back What is god if not nothing oceanless? It slapped my back With angry eyes Let me down And took my tongue No more words You owe me none Took our brother and his ship Took his clothes and stripped him bare These days we just sit around You did this, you let us down
